Household Appliance Maintenance Tips.

rates3Refrigerator: Clean your condenser coils once every two years, yearly if you have pets. Keeping this area clean and clear will not only extend the life of your appliance it will also help you save money on your energy bills.
Clothes Washers: Front load- Run a 1/2 cup Vinegar or Bleach once every two or three months with no clothes in machine. Keep the front door and dispenser drawer open when not in use. Only use a table spoon of HE soap. These tips will prevent mold and mildew build up and keep your washer running good. Top load- Use the same tips but HE soap is not necessary.
Clothes dryer: Check your exterior dryer vent regularly! Turn the dryer on and go outside, check to see that you have good air flow leaving the house. If you do not, schedule a dryer vent cleaning immediately! If the vent is plugged with lent the heat will stay in your dryer effecting the operation of the appliance. There is also a possiblity of a house fire!
Dishwasher: Run a 1/2 cup of vinegar through your dishwasher once every two months, once a month if you have well water. This will help clean out your drain system and prevent build up of mold, mildew and white cloudy film.
Microwave: Clean the door jam regularly removing grease and food particals. This will help your microwave door to seal properly.
