Are your items freezing in the refrigerator? We recently went out to a customers home and found the refrigerator section of a Kitchen aid side by side acting more like a freezer. The milk was half frozen, egg, vegetables, and soft drinks all frozen.

After a closer look I realized that the dampener control was not shutting, even when the refrigerator was completely shut off. This is not normal and was more than likely the cause of all the frozen items. I removed the dampener from the refrigerator and found the plastic shutter slide was completely broken. The main control board was sending power to the dampener but it was not able to shut. After replacing the dampener, the refrigerator temps returned to normal.
